Dr. Nicole M. Gibler is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Since 2015, she has served in outpatient private practice, providing psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in the diagnostic assessment and treatment of various mental health issues, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Gibler strongly values the importance of thorough diagnostic assessment prior to making treatment recommendations which may include medication adjustments and psychotherapy. She is dedicated to understanding her patient’s story, advocating for an individual’s mental well-being, and showing compassion through this process.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Gibler was an attending physician at the Lindner Center of Hope in Mason, Ohio. She completed her adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She served as Chief Fellow for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry during her final year of fellowship. Also while at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Gibler received the Marc H. Hollander, MD Award for Outstanding Performance by a Psychiatry Resident from the Faculty of the Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Gibler graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. While in medical school, she was Co-Director of Urban Health Project and received the America’s Health Care Heroes Appreciation Award for providing health-related services to at-risk populations of Greater Cincinnati, OH. She also won the Stanley M. Kaplan Essay award from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry based on research performed at the Duke University Medical Center.
Understanding psychiatric illness and helping those with mental health issues have been passions of Dr. Gibler since early in school. She served as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault at a women’s center in downtown Cincinnati and as a crisis counselor in Oxford, OH during her undergraduate years at Miami University.
Dr. Gibler was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and enjoys being part of such a wonderful community. Providing care to those with mental illness in the Greater Cincinnati area is truly a humbling and rewarding journey for which she feels so fortunate.
