Additionally, he has spent over 10 years providing supervision towards independent licensure for LPCC, chemical dependency counselors and has assisted clinicians to obtain their supervision designation. He has participated in presentations relating to mental health issues and substance abuse prevention and serves as a passionate advocate for the field of mental wellness.
Dan’s approach to therapy is meeting the individual where they are and helping them to achieve the peace they strive to obtain. Dan follows the adage by Irvin Yalom that “everything is grist for the therapy mill”; everyday events can help one to better understand their circumstances and the control they have to manage the current situation. Dan uses a variety of approaches including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and a patient-centered approach to meet the needs of patients. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, attention issues, anger, and strengthening coping skills to navigate life’s transitions. Dan knows the key to an effective and positive experience in therapy is meeting you where you are at, and working together towards wellness.
Dan’s previous work with individual, group therapy, and clinician development has brought him to a place where he is excited to work directly with individuals and families. His intention is to listen to understand and provide empathy in your journey.
